Supreme Court to decide if Christian college group must allow gays, others to get school nod

This spring, the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments whether a Christian group was wrongfully denied recognition as an official organization at the University of California’s Hastings College of Law. The group effectively prohibits gay and lesbian members because voting members and officers must believe "Christians should not engage in sexual conduct outside of a marriage between a man and a woman."

The group is challenging the law school’s refusal to acknowledge them as a formal organization on the grounds of freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and freedom of association.
