Depression Rising Among Lawyers

As the economy continues to take its toll on lawyer related positions, depression is rising among attorneys. Many law students incorrectly assume their job future is secure because they attended law school. Nothing could be farther from the truth in this economy. Across the nation, third year law students are facing glum job prospects.

But the mood downturn is just as prominent among practicing attorneys. A website called "Lawyers with Depression" is experiencing a 25% increase in traffic since June. In addition, the New York bar association is noticing an uptick in lawyers seeking mental health services related to depression.
