Securities and Exchange Commission to Reorganize

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is trying to toughen up after the Bernie Madoff scandal. The SEC will reorganize many divisions in an attempt to react faster and crack down on individuals seeking to violate Federal regulations.

The SEC is allegedly seeking guidance from the Department of Justice on how to better prosecute potential cases. This will involve more specialized units focusing on certain areas. The SEC will also reportedly offer more immunity agreements to individuals who are willing to help out.

One potential problem, however, is the rate of personnel turnover the SEC experiences. Nevertheless, changes are necessary to make the SEC a true threat to in the eyes of would-be lawbreakers.
