The defense attorney for Major Hasan, who is accused of killing 13 people in Fort Hood, has started blogging about the case, despite a partial gag order. Hasan is represented by attorney John Galligan is a retired Army colonel and is very experienced in military law.
Discovery commenced weeks ago in the case, and as Galligan began to receive evidence, the judge issued a partial gag order prohibiting Galligan from divulging anything from the evidence. In protest, Galligan started his legal blog, citing double standards in the case. Galligan claims prosecutors are not bound by a gag order regarding any evidence. Galligan has also criticized the Army for refusing to let him depose the base commander at the time of the shooting. Galligan’s blog is available at forthoodattorney.com
