President Obama put his signature on the historic health care bill, dubbed the America Health Care for America Act. Before adding his official signature, the President said “We have just now enshrined, as soon as I sign this bill, the core principle that everybody should have some basic security when it comes to their health care . . . ."
Republican lawmakers are already planning on trying to repeal the bill. Around the country, a number of state attorney generals have threatened to sue the federal government for encroaching on state’s rights. It is quite certain the issue will come before the Supreme Court at some point, as critics are arguing the bill is unconstitutional on grounds of the legislature overreaching their Constitutional powers.
