A Minnesota nurse who allegedly encouraged people to commit suicide in online chat rooms is now facing criminal charges. The Defendant, who is a man, apparently posed as numerous alter egos online and offered people advice on how to commit suicide and encouraged them to do. The Defendant also allegedly entered into suicide pacts with a number of people.
The charges, filed in Minnesota, stem from two deaths in 2005 and 2008; two people that allegedly killed themselves after talking to the Defendant in an online chat room. According to investigators, the Defendant told them he thought he had encouraged dozens of people to kill themselves.
