Army Charges Soldier With Three Counts of Premeditated Murder

The US Army has charged one member with premeditated murder, and may pursue additional charges against other members of his squad. All the soldiers deployed from the same unit that is based in the state of Washington. All of the alleged events took place between January and May, at a base in Afghanistan.

So far, only one person has been charged with three counts of premeditated murder and assault. He remains in custody stateside as part of his pretrial confinement. Another soldier who might be involved is being detained in Kuwait, and the other three are still with their unit in Afghanistan. At this time, the military has not provided any details on the charges at this time.
