US bars Iroquois lacrosse team from flight to the UK

Members of an Iroquois lacrosse team have been turned away from a flight to the world championships in the UK.

The team was barred by officials at New York’s John F Kennedy airport who would not honour their passports issued by the Iroquois Confederacy.

The group refuses to use US passports, arguing that they are an attack on their identity.
