Supreme Court Allows States to Use Lethal Injection Drugs Not Made in the US

The Supreme Court ruled that states can now use the a previously approved lethal injection drug even if the drug is not manufactured in the United States. The Court had previously approved the use of a certain drug that was apparently out of stock for months. As a result, states could not move forward with executions.

The Court approved the use of the drug obtained from foreign countries, noting that there was no evidence that it was unsafe if coming from those sources.
