Occupy Vancouver, Victoria campers ordered out

City officials in Vancouver and Victoria have told protesters in the Occupy camps that they need to take down their tents, but many in the camps say they have no intention of complying with the demand.

Instead, organizers in Vancouver say they are planning a rally at the downtown site on Monday afternoon, and appeared to be setting up more tents on the site, despite orders from the fire chief not to erect any new structures.

The camp residents say they have a charter right to protest — and to choose how they protest — and they won’t leave the lawn of the Vancouver Art Gallery, despite an expected court injunction.
