Montreal police said this morning that more than 200 people were arrested during the previous night’s raucous protest against alleged police brutality.
Chief Marc Parent said 36 people were nabbed in isolated arrests, while 190 were detained in a mass arrest at a street corner near the downtown core.
Four people are still in detention.
Parent said seven officers were slightly injured, as were two civilians.
He is also defending police behaviour during the protest as professional.
